When i saw the box it arrived in , my 1st thought is how is the lampshade in the box. It was very well packaged, with the lampshade wrapped around the lamp base. I was worried about being able to put the shade together, but because strong velcro is used ,its very easy. The lamp looks like wood with wood grain. I would think it could be easily painted to match your decor if you choose to change the color. The quality is outstanding, and it brings a sophisticated touch to the room.
